Date & Venue Confirmed for Cup final

The details for the Racers Birmingham Senior Cup Final clash with Aston Villa U21s have been confirmed.

The competition along with the trophy is nearly 150 years old (1876-77) and, as such, is one of the oldest football competitions in the world. The Senior Challenge Cup is the most prestigious competition hosted and administered by Birmingham County Football Association.

The competition is for all clubs that are at or above Step 5 in the National League System making Racing Club Warwick one of the lowest ranked sides in the competition, which also includes all the Professional Clubs in the County FA: Aston Villa , Birmingham City , Burton Albion, Coventry City, Walsall, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers

Our road to the final began in October, where the Racers defeated Midland Football League Premier Division outfit Dudley Town 5-1 in the first round, Thanks to goals from Louie Monaghan, Cal Templeton, Charlie Jones & a brace from Callum Carsley.

Forward Monaghan was also on the scoresheet with a brace in the second round, when Easterlows’s men defeated National League Outfit Solihull Moors 2-0 at Townsend Meadow.

The run of home ties continued in round three with the visit of Championship Side Birmingham City, where Louie Monaghan again netted along with Luke Shearer in a 2-0 win.

The Quarter-Final saw the Racers face Midland Football League Premier Division side Darlaston Town, Early 1st half goals from Luke Shearer & Cameron Ebbutt avenged our early season FA Cup defeat to the MFL side & set up what would become a memorable Semi-final bout with local rivals Leamington at Townsend Meadow.

And that, of course, was a 2-0 win settled by second half goals from Charlie Jones & Connor Mort on a rainy night at Townsend Meadow in front of 1300 fans. The win sees the Racers become the first Step 5 side to reach the final in over 40 years.
